Review of The Godfather Part III (1990) by Robert H — 24 Apr 2014
The Godfather Part III is generally considered the lesser of the trilogy.
If part 1 was loading the bases, part 2 hitting the homerun, then part 3 is that base hit after the fact that gets left there, stranded, needing help but never getting it before the third out.
Why the baseball metaphor? Perhaps because it's America's game and The Godfather trilogy is much like America. Full of hope and dreams and high asperations for an immigrant family only to find that they should never forget their family roots.
This is a worthy finish to one of the greatest trilogies of all time.
