Review of The Godfather Part II (1974) by Alexander Z — 12 Aug 2012
The Vito scenes are remarkably underdeveloped, and as they are interspersed between scenes of the present day with Michael Corleone, it proves to more distracting than anything. The character of Hyman Roth is also an annoyance and slows down the movie whenever he's onscreen.
These two things keep Godfather II from being a truly great movie, although it is still very good.
