Review of The Godfather Part II (1974) by Sumit S — 09 Nov 2012
Making a sequel that can live upto the original is a feat in itself. But when the predecessor is the greatest film of all time, achieving that feat is legendary. And that's what The Godfather Part II is.
Having all the ingredients that made its predecessor immortal, It sets a new standards for sequels that still remains unmatched. Continuing the mafia saga from where it left, Francis Ford Coppola & Mario Puzo creates a prequel & a sequel within the movie that carries on the legacy of the Corleone family.
The direction, plot, screenplay, performances are as good as The Godfather, & music even better. The Godfather Part II is the story of two generations, one dealing with the rise while other depicting the fall of mafia family.
From start to finish, this is a legendary stuff.
