Masterpiece. Still as engaging and as brilliant as it was in previous viewings. I still don't understand how Pacino did not win the Oscar for this role? The idea of building in a prequel into a sequel was just genius, and allows the viewer to have a deeper character understanding by drawing parallels between the two stories.
There is so much going on in this film that it's astounding to think that Francis Ford Coppola was able to maneuver so deftly in his storytelling and direction to pull it off.
