Whilst elaborately embraced as absolutely fabulous, it doesn't quite equate to the staggering original. The performances are very strong, yes. But the story is long-winded and at times unnecessarily over-complex.
However, it is captivating and will probably keep most people watching and enjoying it until the excellent finale.
