Review of The Godfather Part II (1974) by Lexingtond. — 27 Jul 2007
This movie is, in fact, better than the Godfather I, but there's a caveat: it does not function without its predecessor. On its own, the movie is without flaw, but the story is simply not enough without the presumption of its being a sequel; having said that, being as Part I is a perfect film that must be seen this should not be an issue for any viewers.
Perhaps my critical opinion of it being better simply reflects a flawless continuation of a flawless film, but I do generally feel Part II is equal to, if not superior to, Part I. It's hard to outdo perfection.
