Review of The Glimmer Man (1996) by Gary B — 04 Aug 2009
A big thumbs down Steven. This is a predictable and poor odd-couple/buddy cop effort. The attempts to portray Seagal and Wayans as chalk and cheese is pathetic. Seagal's character is indecipherable, vague and boring. Whereas Wayan's character is one dimensional.
Some parts of the film seem to play no legitimate part in it. Why did they go to the Chinese medicine shop? Search me, probably the same reason that Seagal's character was a buddhist. That is to say that the whole film is a vanity project for a man who might as well just carry a placard reading "I'm interested in eastern culture" and mutter contradictory statements to passers by.
