Review of The Giver (2014) by Tyray W — 01 Oct 2014

The Giver is a promising, but disappointing young adult sci-fi adaptation. Most of the cast is solid in their roles, especially the a list cast. A promising premise gives to a fantastic first act that uses the intriguing premise, but sadly the film squanders due to a weak second act and a rushed third act.

Beautiful and artistic style help bring the world to life though, and the cinematographer helps with some outstanding and artistic camera work.
