The Giver: I really wanted to like this film, about a bland, loveless, colorless dystopian world where conformity reigns in order to prevent conflict or jealousy. But it never digs deeply enough into the source material from the popular young adult book upon which the film is based.
As a result, it's s real drag. C-.
