Doomed from the start. The main problem is that it's nothing like the book, it tries to be a sci fi teen movie that tries to be dramatic but ends up failing. The story is about a g teenager named Jonas, who lives in a society where everyone is bland, colorless, and has no emotions, which is exactly how the characters act in this movie.
The acting is so stiff and boring. Heres the problem, rather than be dark and subtle, the tries to compete in the likes of The Hunger Games, Percy Jackson, and Divergent, even though the book came out ages before their books.
Its a disgrace to a dark but beloved classic. lois Lowry would be ashamed to see this movie.
