I'm probably overly biased cuz I remember the book too fondly, but this wasn't the book I loved as a child. Something overly wooden about the acting, even with all the star power behind it. Something a little too trying to be Hunger Games and Divergent and tweeny - when it really isn't.
It's a more subtle message that got lost in the film. How unfortunate - could have been a great movie.
