Review of The Giver (2014) by Annice H — 31 Oct 2014

Unfortunately, I can only give 3 stars(and really that is even just because of the respect I have for Lois Lowry and her genius creation). I was totally excited to hear they made this book into a movie.

I wanted it to explode with excitement and zest that was developed in the book. The book was a true fantasy adventure. The movie was a fictional advertisement. It further substantiates the theory that books really are better than movie version of the same.

I think it's just too much of a challenge to develop the layers of flavor, if I can use a cooking analogy, that were experienced in the book. With that the movie falls flat and is a bit one note.
