Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) by Jon-Tyler S — 24 Jul 2013
Yet another example why David Fincher is one of the best directors working in Hollywood. Most people say that if you saw the original, that was made just a year or two before this one, then you probably won't like this one. Not because it's a bad movie but simply because it's not that different. I didn't see the original Swedish version so I really liked this movie. It has that dark and twisted feel to it that the director hasn't explored since his film Seven.
Daniel Craig is pretty great in this film like always but the real showrunner here is Rooney Mara. She completely looses herself and becomes engrossed in her role.
Now, the flick is rough and pretty brutal in some scenes but it is still worth a watch.
