Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) by Jaypee N — 03 Nov 2012

When I first saw they were re-making this film Americanized with new actors, I was pissed. I had seen all three movies of the Swedish original. So I read the books and decided I would give this new remake a chance because the originals left out some good stuff.

I really thought I was going to like it until about a third of the way through... Rooney Mara did not get Salander. She was too open and willing to talk about things. If you haven't already, watch the Swedish version.

Noomi Rapace's portrayal of Salander is spot on. Though I was still willing to continue on with the movie I was done when they completely deviated from the books with the Harriet/Anita story line.
