Quite good. But a lot of it had a rather Noir feeling updated to modern times.

Meaning more angst and updated roles of women, investigation, and relationships to the modern world.

But the movie is quite atmospheric should you give it the time and the acting is top notch.

The only real criticism I could have is that the movie movies rather slowly, is quite long, and is mostly devoid of action. But that's more of the nature of mystery thrillers rather than a failing of the material within itself.
