Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) by Allen W — 28 Nov 2012
I did intend to see this, but the Swedish one did sit quite right. And to my surprise, this is actually the better of the two, adaptation wise. They do a better job of adding the subtleties of the book, and Craig and Mara's portrayals are much more in line with my mind's Mikael and Lisbeth.
There is one thing that drags it down... And it's the English. I was expected it to be either standardized British or American, but instead it is an inconsistent mess. British, along with fake and real Swedish accents, and a couple inexplicable American ones tossed in.
Anyway, while both changed the ending, I enjoyed this one's more and think it is more in line with the spirit of the book.
