Whether you loved the book or the original adaptation I think anyone who sees this film can agree its intentse and more than well executed. From the the highly stylized opening, to the simply magnificent performance of Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander.

This is a heavy film with some disturbing subject matter that some will have a tough time handling, but this film isn't out there just to shock you. It wants to make you think about the rot just beneath the surface in even the seemingly best places to live.
