Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) by Lee F — 24 Oct 2014

I've watched this movie 3 times now. Once when it first came out. I didn't really care for it. Again when it came to HBO. I enjoyed it more with that viewing but still found it pretty dark and I didn't quite grasp everything yet.

I just watched it a third time and have completely changed my opinion on it. It's not a feel good movie by any means. It's dark, dreary, and downright difficult to watch in some sections. It's also extremely well acted and beautifully filmed.

I realize now I wasn't quite ready for that first viewing but I gave it a second and even third chance. I have a feeling that's what the director intended. (David Fincher - Seven, Fight Club, Zodiac, Gone Girl).
