Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) by Jonathan M — 10 Feb 2012
Having read the book and not being thrilled with it, when I saw this movie I was enthralled with it. With fantastic acting and a wonderfully dark and twisted story I was amazed with how I became absorbed with the film (especially considering the subtitles).
However there are a few complaints that make this film not as good as it's American counterpart. First the music was at times overwhelming and off mood. Second and more importantly the Australia scene.
In the book it is hinted at wonderfully and is one of the best parts. In this film it comes out of nowhere and seems completely off. Fincher did well removing it entirely. That being said it is a great movie and I recommend it.
