Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) by Jennifer L — 06 Apr 2012
This Swedish film adaptation of Stieg Larsson's modern classic novel is good. It does not go as in depth as the source material (but what adaptation does) and in that it lacks some of the story's power and much needed character details.
Still, the acting is serviceable and the picture boats a cool European vibe, which was abundant in the book. The real standout is Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth, if anything, you should see the film for her commanding performance.
It's not a perfect adaptation and could serve to be longer to include important and sorely missing subplots, but it's good nonetheless.
