Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) by Markie J — 15 Sep 2012
Before watching this film I had previously read the book and so it was interesting to see how different/similar they actually were, and I was quite nicely surprised.
Most things were as I had imagined them including the actors portrayal of the interesting characters. Noomi was fantastic as Lisbeth and really encompassed who the mixed up young girl was.
There were slight changes that I wasn't really pleased about. The fact that Anita was dead in the film really irked me as she played quite a key role in the book. Plague wasn't the same either as he is made out to be quite a comedic person, whereas Larsson didn't write him that way. In fact, he was supposed to be someone a little like Lisbeth in the fact that he keeps himself to himself.
Overall it was a really enjoyable film and I look forward to seeing the sequels as well as the new Daniel Craig version.
