Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) by Dave M — 11 Feb 2013
The movie works better only if you have read the novel. Audiences unfamiliar with the novel may get confused with the numerous Vanger members and the somewhat disjointed storytelling as the movie flips between Lisbeth and Mikael.
As an adaptation, it was by-the-numbers, but it lacked kinetics, which is something a *motion* picture should have. Regardless, I ended up caring about Lisbeth and Mikael, which made their respective revenges all that more enjoyable to watch.
