Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) by Timothy S — 31 Dec 2013
Watched the miniseries of the trilogy rather than the theatrical versions, maybe I would have felt differently if I'd watched them that way. Compared with Fincher's 2011 remake, this one comes off a little more preachy and political, but it's also a lot less flashy and stylized, and seems more focused on giving a sense of the world it takes place in.
Noomi Rapace's version of Lisbeth is more deliberate and standoffish than Rooney Mara's, who played the character more like a broken animal backed into a corner.
