No-holds-barred directing. Noomi Rapace makes a fantastic Salander - she comes off as a bit too hostile (Salander is uncompromising, distant, and tough, but not demented or immoral), but I'd rather the scales tip toward hostile than vulnerable (which she is by NO means).
This is one of the best book-to-movie adaptions I have had the pleasure to see. Engaging and atmospheric.
