Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) by Zurino O — 12 Nov 2012
Tried rewatching both versions. (I wanted to get in the mood for the new Bond just released Skyfall....) But I couldn't get past the snide arrogance of 'Bond' and the rest of the cast in the English remake. Not that this Blomkvist isn't also. I guess I was in the mood for subtle and understated. And the original Swedish version does deliver that. And fire on ALL cylinders.
A rare gem. Fascinating. Disturbing. Rich. Complex. Supremely engaging. Superbly done.
(Original review) Very harsh movie to stomach, not for the squeamish or faint of heart (ie brutal rape scene). A very engaging thriller that is very well done all the way around.
