Review of The Girl with All the Gifts (2016) by Nedryerson1 — 24 Feb 2017
The Girl with All the Gifts is the secret film adaptation from the videogame The Last of Us. Despite the author said that his inspiration was from a documentary of ants (the same as the game), the book came out a year later the game was release, suspicious.
The idea, main protagonist and zombie behavior are identical to The Last of Us; the plot is similar until the outcome, which is a breeze of fresh air, thankfully. It is hard to evaluate the movie on its own, because all said before, but both treat a complex theme, when in a single person fight what is best for mankind versus individuality.
The ending is strange though; difficult to understand how they reach a situation like that. Sennia Nenua is impressive, she carries out the entire movie and does such an amazing thing, to manipulate de viewer, in order to like her, hate her and be confused sometimes.
Glenn Close is also pretty good.
