Review of The Girl with All the Gifts (2016) by Dan P — 06 Jan 2017
First off... everyone has their own taste, and opinions what I find gold the next guy may find to be poo. This I find to be an absolute pile of... golden brick nuggets. From the start you are forced to care about the characters, there is no doubt the performances are astounding. If you are meant to dislike them you do, and if you are meant to care about them... GD you do. Except for Dominique Tipper, would of loved to have her in the film more.
You gotta love this genre.... and I'm not talking about just zombie or virus films. I'm talking years after the outbreak the earth is crumbling, the weeds are taking back over post apocalyptic beauty genre. The survivors are struggling, and doing anything necessary to find a cure. Then something different happens that "I" feel isn't explored enough in zombie movies. Little kids.. are we to assume the adults just feed on them because you hardly ever see a zombie kid in movies. I've watched whole zombie movies, and not seen one little zombie kid that just doesn't make sense.
OK sure the pack style of these half breeds is a little "wtf?" I honestly thought it was fresh though. Definitely new territory, and anything but boring. Honestly I don't see how anyone can say this movie was boring.
I absolutely loved it and recommend it to everyone.
