Review of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006) by Avery B — 12 Jul 2008
Outstanding & utterly delightful. a very pleasing blend of humour, clever plot, sentimentality, unpredictability and very likable characters. an engaging & well-paced film. the voice acting (in japanese) was superb.
it feels a lot like a studio ghibli film (but animation was done by Madhouse) -- although the visual quality isn't as high as recent ghibli films. the colours were too dull for me though -- but for the time being i'm going to blame that on the theatre I watched it in.
once I see it on dvd, then i'll know whether they were intended to be more vibrant.
