Review of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (1997) by David S — 19 Sep 2008
I had heard this film described as a "modern classic" and as possibly having as much impact on the world of animé as Akira had. This is a wile overstatement. But, if you can look past any hype, you will find a charming and beautiful story about growing up, love and.
.. time travel. The sci-fi element does distinguish it from the crowd though, along with the beautiful and unusually serene visuals and the well drawn characters. Perhaps gets a little convulated towards the end, but overall a great coming-of-age film.
