Review of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (2009) by Christine L — 24 Jun 2011
This final installment in the Swedish film trilogy is possibly not quite the entertaining romp the first two films are, but it still manages to entertain as it wraps up this complex story. Once again, I enjoyed the entire cast, and the story of this one picks up right at the end of the previous one, so you really need to have watched the first two films to even understand what is going on in this one.
This trilogy, as a whole, is definitely one of the more interesting cinematic events to come out of Sweden since Let the Right One In. The over-all story was very complex and interesting, and the way that everything gets wrapped up in this film is entertaining and satisfying.
I really liked these films, and as I said in my review for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I really look forward to see what David Fincher does with this material and I sincerely hope that he gets to direct the whole trilogy, because the story has great potential in his hands.
