Better than part 2 but not as good as part 1. There is a great story buried in this film, which occasionally manages to be gripping. However it is let down by lazy direction. Several scenes which should be thrilling are just hum-drum, as the director fails to make the most of them.
Hopefully the American remakes will rectify this problem, which has been the case through most of the series.
