Review of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (2009) by Johnathon W — 25 Nov 2011
I really enjoyed the adaptations of the first and second instalments of the "Millennium" trilogy, however this concluding film was somewhat lacking. The B-story of the novel was missing entirely from the film (which is a great shame) and parts of the plot were skimmed over quite hastily.
It felt like the film had been toned down for the screen, which is disappointing. Noomi Rapace remains brilliant as Lisbeth Salander, however Michael Nyqvist seems to look a little bored on screen. A satisfactory film, though it falls short of the mark.
I will be interested to see what the English version of the film will be like...
