Review of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (2009) by Patrick M — 01 Jan 2013
...didn't seem to score well with other critics, but I thought it was watchable. Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rappace) was convincing and was well matched by Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist). Salander lies critically injured in hospital while the corrupt powers that be, including the evil Dr.
Peter Teleborian (Anders Ahlbom Rosendahl), work to ensure she is incarcerated for life in order keep their evil misdemeanors of the past under lock and key. Blomkvist's loyalty to Salander is strong and unbreakable, and along with his colleagues at Millennium magazine he battles back with counter punches in an attempt to bring down the opposing forces.
The film ultimately boils down to a courtroom face off between Salander and Teleborian, a confrontation that the trilogy has been aiming at all along. The film is quite faithful to the novel, with the occasional tweak, and is quite a good finale to the trilogy.
It is such a tragic shame that Stieg Larsson is no longer around to provide more.
