Review of The Girl on the Train (2016) by Mandy S — 26 Oct 2016
Despite a Hammer Horror B Movie climax and one too many glamour sex shots, this is a gripping suburban 'whodunnit' with surprising depths. Exploring themes of infertility, addiction and women's relationships, the film is beautifully shot and the liminal spaces of the city (the tunnel; the no man's land between train track and houses) imaginatively used.
Emily Blunt delivers a superb performance.
