Review of The Girl on the Train (2016) by Matthewakalusi — 24 Jan 2017
The movie is about three women Rachel, Anna and Megan whose lives are interconnected. Rachel, the main character, is divorced, an experience which is taking a serious toll on her emotionally. She has a serious problem with alcoholism.
A lot of the movie is told in flashback and going over events preceding certain scenes, with a story largely revolving around Rachel's daily train commute. This is a psychological thriller that tries too hard to be one, with plot lines around the three women which are too disparate and a twist at the end that underwhelms.
