Review of The Girl on the Train (2016) by Steven M — 05 Nov 2016
After some of the other reviews I read (this movie was being compared greatly to Gone Girl - and is an insult to it frankly) I wasn't expecting a whole lot and really only went to see this movie out of boredom more than anything.
I ended up liking it quite a bit though, and didn't find it as confusing as other psychological thrillers I've seen. Mainly because, without giving anything away, this movie doesn't leave you guessing at the end and wraps up pretty things nicely without making you feel like you don't really know what the truth is.
As a rule, I don't really like psychological thrillers for that reason, you don't ever "really" know what happened. The story is more believable than other movies of its kind I've seen, and I thoroughly enjoyed Emily Blunt's performance as well, which was incredible.
Not the greatest movie of the year by any means, but definitely worth seeing.
