Review of The Girl on the Train (2016) by Isadore H — 28 Oct 2016
Girl on the Train stars Emily Blunt and is about her character, a depressed alcoholic, who stares at some houses each day she rides the train and imagines the lives of the people inside the house until one day she sees something that turns her world upside down.
The film started out pretty well, I was enjoying the premise and the information given to us through Blunt, who was excellent in this movie. Unfortunately, the movie moved at about the speed of an iceberg for most of the run time.
Everyone did a good job in their roles, however the script really let them down more than once, some if the dialogue was downright cringy, but other times it was pretty good, but it really varied. The plot was interesting enough, but the execution really left a lot to be desired.
The ending was good and interesting for me, but everything in between wasn't compelling in the slightest. Girl on the Train is alright, but nothing is really that memorable about it.
