Review of The Girl on the Train (2016) by Kristi S — 13 Nov 2016
I read the book, so of course the book was better. In comparison to the book...there were some awkward sex scenes in the movie that weren't needed and for me changed who the characters were from the book.
Megan's character for example is made out to be someone that uses sex to get what she wants almost sinister which leaves you with little empathy that she missing or possibly murdered. So then the plot starts to crumble as the area of Megan's life.
.the early part that makes her human and someone you feel for..is quickly gone through in a vague flash back memory scene. Emily blunt killed it as Rachel, very nice!! The Anna character left me confused in the movie as in the book she's the one who more less used sex to get what she wanted maybe overly confident only to redeem her self later.
I think portrayal of the Megan and Anna characters where muddy and maybe flip flopped a bit. Still good movie but could have been better?
