Review of The Girl in the Spider's Web (2018) by Garret W — 10 Nov 2018
Just got back from it. As a huge fan of the series I really liked the movie. As a fan of movies I can see why it got mediocre reviews. The story if you haven't read the books feels convoluted & all over the place.
There isn't much in the way of development between Lisbeth & Mikael, yet there's tension(if you've read the books you'll understand why.) The tension between the sisters is glossed over, but never really explored outside of the ole you abandoned me.
They missed an opportunity to really dive into the meat of the issue being their father and how psychotic he was. They sort of just made him out to be a child rapist & that's it. Overall as a super fan of the series, I understood everything going so it flowed nicely in my head, but if they had hopes of making a long running series, this isn't a good start.
