Review of The Gift (2015) by Prentice S — 16 Sep 2015
Joel Edgerton's directorial debut, "The Gift," turned out to be the first film that really showed his acting ability too. Bateman, Hall, and Edgerton all shine in this creepy, broken drama about how life, despite how far in the past it is, can always catch up to you.
Bateman is a fantastic villain, mostly because his role as Simon is endlessly flawed and human. And Edgerton keeps his end up to as Gordo, the creepy, bullied, and down-trodded man with nothing left to lose.
The twist ending was brilliant- sad and utterly heartbreaking.
