Review of The Ghost Writer (2010) by Gene — 02 Apr 2010
The difference between a master and a hack: in just the last scene, a lesser director would have shown the whole mess in gory, shuddering detail to pander shamelessly to the groundlings. Like the LeCarre films, the violence, what there is of it, furthers the story, rather than becomes it.
All-too-rare intelligence and wit in this genre.
