Review of The Ghost and the Darkness (1996) by Pradyut V — 04 May 2008
Oh !!!i absolutely loved it...this movie is about the Tsavo maneaters which killed about ppl of africa sometime wayback in 1898...here these ppl are rescued by Val Kilmer who plays an engineer building the bridge with invaluable support from Michael Douglas as the famed hunter.
The movie holds one's attention right from the very first frame to the last frame..even Wilkinson's performance in a tiny role as the cruel boss is noteworthy. The movie has an amazing soundtrack full of elements of African music and is endearing.
Val Kilmer gives an extremely restrained performance and Douglas a delightful little cameo as both set about hunting the lions.
