Review of The Ghost and the Darkness (1996) by Jim M — 02 Jan 2009
Kenya, 1898: Joh Patterson has come to build a bridge for the railroad but finds he work threatned by 2 man eating lions dubbed "The Ghost and the Darkness" who strike without warning fear or reason. Teaming up with his camp supervisor and an American hunter, Patterson sets out to hunt down the lions.
Based on the true story of the Man-Eaters of Tsavo, who killed upwords of 130 people in less then a year. An excellent adventure story with some great shots, rousing score and strong performances from Val Kilmer and Michael Douglas (who can be one of the most interesting actors around when not playing middle-aged professionals whos dick gets them into trouble).
