Review of The Ghost and the Darkness (1996) by Darrell C — 10 Aug 2007
No other movie since Jaws has created terror and fear of an animal like this movie. Based on a true story, two male lions terrorize a village and stop the building of a British railway due to the fact tha the workers believe the lions are demons in disguise. Let me tell you..the way this movie plays out it has you agreeing with the villagers! Kilmer (the engineer overseeing the project) and Douglas (an American big game hunter)try to stop them...but they end up being the hunted.
This movie is shocking, tense, gory and frightening. 'Don't go back into the water' was the Jaws mantra. This movie could very well say, 'Don't go back into the jungle'.
Great movie!
