Review of The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966) by D M — 19 Nov 2009
Don Knotts plays the brave coward well. He's a typesetter for the local paper and desperately wants to be a full-fledged reporter. When given the chance, his first assignment is the spend the night in a spooky old ?murder house? that is about to be demolished.
His story of spooks in the house causes a sensation and he becomes a local celebrity, but there are also a number of doubting Thomasi. Funny and worth a watch. Maybe a horror-comedy only by the largest stretch of the term.
