Review of The Getaway (1972) by Greg S — 20 Jul 2008
World-class misogynists Jim Thompson and Sam Peckinpah team up for a movie that may as well be called "Must I do EVERYTHING on this job?" As Doc must carry his wife through her many screwups, so must Steve McQueen carry the pic in the wake of the lovely-but-wooden Ali McGraw.
Very good Quincy Jones score, and a couple of terrific, suspenseful setpieces.
