Review of The Getaway (1972) by Ewan G — 24 May 2010
Man in prison, gets wife to persuade boss to release him, boss does deal so man has to do bank robbery, deception & chicanery!
Dated heist/thriller with Steve McQueen playing his usual ice-cool self. The plot unravels slowly but surely & topped by a decent gun fight towards the end.
Although not a classic, the film certainly has influenced many other directors over time.
