Review of The Gentlemen (2020) by Franzhcritic — 24 Jan 2020
The critics have been swing and miss a lot this season. But Guy Ritchie is a filmmaker that they've developed a pattern for striking out on his genius. As the arguable Tarantino of Britain, Ritchie uses dialogue and a clever, interwoven storyline to keep the audience ensnared, laughing, and sometimes shocked at the right moment.
I never thought any man could make me tolerate Hugh Grant for as much screen time as he had, but Ritchie just became that man. 'The Gentlemen' is crass, hysterical and genius. And pity the critics who got their credentials driven too far up their a** to recognize that.
