Review of The Gauntlet (1977) by James R — 22 Dec 2007
Workmanlike thriller from director Clint Eastwood, who would helm much better, moodier films in the '90s and 2000s. Clint plays a gruff cop not too far removed from Dirty Harry. Sandra Locke plays a Vegas prostitute with mob ties who he is supposed to transport to Phoenix.
The charisma between the two leads is genuine, plus we get some gritty action scenes and a corker of a chopper-copter chase.
