Review of The Gauntlet (1977) by Stefan G — 01 Jan 2014
The Gauntlet is definitely not Eastwood's best film, but it's still a very entertaining action film no less. While the script is cliched and Sondra Locke's character can be rather annoying and stupid, the film works well because of the great performance by Clint Eastwood combined with the thrilling action scenes peppered throughout the film.
It also has many moments of really funny humor thanks to the chemistry between Eastwood and his then-girlfriend Locke. I had a lot of fun with this film and it's an underrated film in Eastwood's filmography.
